Katelyn Terry, MA, LPCC | Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
Katelyn (she/her/hers) is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with experience working in private practice, community mental health, and an acute psychiatric hospital setting- focusing on dual diagnosis with substance use disorders. Katelyn graduated from Bellevue University with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020.
Katelyn has training and experience working with a variety of populations (children, adolescents, and adults) and issues such as anxiety, depression, ASD, PTSD, personality disorders, and substance use disorders. In addition to clinical experiences, Katelyn has experienced her own healing journey which allows for authentic understanding and connection in the therapeutic process.
Katelyn believes it is important to take a client-centered approach in sessions as there is no single approach that is right for everyone. Katelyn will pull from a variety of modalities including mindfulness techniques, creative interventions, TF-CBT, DBT, person-centered, and feminist psychology to create a free-flowing and collaborative therapeutic environment that includes direct feedback and guidance through the growth areas in your life that need your attention!
A quote she believes in is “therapy only works when we have a desire to know ourselves as we are, not as we would like to be.” Though you may not know what is going to work for you, you know what has not worked and that is a good place to start!
